Joh 9:18 - 24 "The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight and asked them, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?  His parents answered, "We know that this is our son and that he was born blind. But how he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself. (His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.)  Therefore his parents said, "He is of age; ask him. So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, "Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner."

The essence of unbelief is holding onto falsehood, believing you are right, even if it is clear, you're deceived. Self-deception is the essence of not believing in God. The evidences are everywhere.

Rom 1:19, 20  "For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."

It was clear the man was healed, everyone knew. It is not that the religious elite didn't want to believe this man. They didn't want to believe that Jesus had the power of healing.
They questioned the former blind man. They questioned his parents. They threatened. They demanded that their twisted way of spinning lies as truth remained the norm.
They wanted this man to paint Jesus as sinful and evil.

He told them, "I only know that He healed my sight after a lifetime of blindness." They pressed in, "What did you say He did?" "What did He do that you attribute healing to Him and not to God."
The man was fed up with this. He retorts, "Why do you keep asking me, expecting a different answer. If you keep hearing about what Jesus says and does, will that cause you to follow after Him?"

"You follow this impostor, we are followers of God's law, given by Moses", the religious leaders said. We know God spoke to Moses on the mountain, but we don't know where Jesus comes from."

Joh 9:25 -29 "He answered, "Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.  They said to him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes? He answered them, "I have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become his disciples? And they reviled him, saying, "You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.  We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from."

It was amazingly evident. They knew, they saw, they heard, they didn't acknowledge, they didn't listen, they wouldn't believe what was right before them. They would believe only their version of what God must be like. They thought God must be like them, for they put themselves in the place of God.

They also believed that the man was born blind because of sin. Because God was punishing him. The truth God was going to use the man's blindness to demonstrate His love, mercy and grace. To instill faith. God is Absolute Love.

They threw this man out, they refused to believe.

Mat 13:14, 15  "Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: "'You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.  For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them."

Joh 9:30 -34  "The man answered, "Why, this is an amazing thing! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.  Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.  If this man were not from God, he could do nothing. They answered him, "You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?" And they cast him out."

Jesus heard about the confrontation this man had with the religious leaders. He sought the man He had healed out. He wanted to seal the faith established in this man.

"Do you believe in Me, that I Am, Yahweh? I Am 'The Son of Man' Daniel prophesied of ages ago?"; Jesus asked."

The man understood and acknowledged Jesus as God. The man born blind from birth worshiped Jesus giving Him honor as God.

This was why Jesus had come, not for final judgement. Not for the verdict to be carried out on men. No it was for the verdict to be read to men. Jesus would carry out the verdict, declare the verdict and pardon those who deserved the judgement of the verdict, if only they would repent and accept the grace and pardon offered.

Joh 9:35 -39  "Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man? He answered, "And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?  Jesus said to him, "You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you. He said, "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him.  Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind."

Some of the very elite religious leaders heard Jesus talking about the verdict. "Are we also guilty of not seeing God's truth;" these religious leaders wanted to know.

Jesus said; "If you didn't see the truth of God's Word you wouldn't be under the verdict." "Because you put yourself in the place of knowing the entire truth of God, the guardians of God's truth; you are under the verdict." "You eliminate yourself from being pardoned."

You only receive the pardon by faith!

Joh 9:40, 41  "Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?  Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, 'We see,' your guilt remains."
