Joh 7:1  "After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him."

When Jesus had declared Himself to be Yahweh come to earth, One with The Father, the Jews began to seek a way to kill Him.

Everyone was gathering for a great traditional religious feast, but Jesus was staying away from there. Jesus' own brothers didn't believe what He was saying about Himself. They said; "If you want to be known and make these crazy statement you've got to go out and make a name for yorself."

Joh 7:2 - 5 "Now the Jews' Feast of Booths was at hand.  So his brothers said to him, "Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world." For not even his brothers believed in him."

Jesus spoke about something they could not understand. He had come for a specific purpose and it would come about in perfect timing. Your time for unbelief is here and because the world is shrouded in unbelief they don't hate you. The world hates me because I declare their unbelief to be evil and condemn-able. So Jesus' brothers left for the celebration without Him.

Joh 7:6 - 9 "Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come." After saying this, he remained in Galilee."

Jesus left after His brothers to go privately to the festival. After all, these religious celebrations were all to celebrate what He had done.
The religious leaders were looking for Jesus, they wanted to be sure that He didn't have a chance to displace them in authority and power.
The people were divided they could't make up their mind as to Jesus real identity. One thing they knew they couldn't talk about Him in the open for the religious leaders wanted to squash Him and His reputation.

Joh 7:10 -13  "But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.  The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, "Where is he?" And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, "He is a good man," others said, "No, he is leading the people astray.  Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him."

So right in the middle of everything Jesus is there teaching in he Temple. The religious leaders again want to know where He learned all the things He was saying and teaching. They were dumb founded at His knowledge and authority.
Jesus said; " here is is, I only teach from God My Father." "All I know is from being with Him in the beginning." "If you want to do God's will you know that I Am speaking on the authority of God." "You religious leaders want glory for yourselves so you take your authority from yourselves not God." "Me I want My Father to be glorified so you know I Am the truth." "There is nothing dark or false in My Words."

Joh 7:14 - 18 "About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching.  The Jews therefore marveled, saying, "How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?"  So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.  If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood."

Jesus went on, He told the religious leaders that though they are the recipients of The Laws given to Moses and have studied them extensively, they are lawbreakers. Moses said do not kill, but you are seeking to kill Me.
I healed one man on the day of rest and you are all nonplussed. The children of God were taught to make a sign of consecration of circumcision, which you do on the eighth day of a little boys life, even on the day of rest. If you establish The Law of Moses by circumcision on the day of rest why do get angry about a man's entire body being healed on the day of rest?
You only have a judgement on exterior things, but if you take up the authority of judging on purely physical knowledge make sure your judgement is not skewed but rightly drawn.

Joh 7:19 - 24 "Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?" The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?" Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you all marvel at it.  Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.  If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man's whole body well? Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

The people were watching and hearing all of this and hey knew the religious leaders wanted Jesus dead. They said; " I think they really know He is the Messiah, otherwise would they let Him go on like this? He is making them to look like fools and fakes!"

Joh 7:25, 26  "Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, "Is not this the man whom they seek to kill? And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ?"
