Joh 4:43 - 47  "After the two days he departed for Galilee.  (For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.) So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the feast. For they too had gone to the feast.  So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death."

Jesus went back to the area where He had grown up as a child. He was welcomed warmly as a home town boy who had made a good showing of himself. They had seen him do an amazing thing at the wedding feast and knew he had challenged the Pharisees in Jerusalem.
He was on His way to see the people who had gotten married and a man who heard Jesus was on the way came to Jesus. His son was sick and at the point of dying. He wanted Jesus to come and heal his son.
Jesus, thought you know if you believed in God's loving touch you would go directly in prayer asking that God's will would be done, yet you seek a sign from me in order to believe in God's love.

Joh 4:48  "So Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe."

The man insisted; "come and heal my son or he will die"!

Jesus spoke so authoritatively that the man believed what He said. Jesus said; "Go on your way, your son will live".
The man hear on the way that his son was getting well. It was at he very time that Jesus said; your son will live.", the fever left him.
The man finally believed that God was good, and that Jesus was who He claimed to be. He was Yahweh, Isa Al Masih, Yeshua Messiah. He was Absolute Love. Everyone in his family believed in Jesus also.

Joh 4:49 - 53 "The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."  Jesus said to him, "Go; your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.  As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering. So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." And he himself believed, and all his household."

This was the second time Jesus demonstrated His Absolute Authority and Absolute Love in His own neighborhood.

Joh 4:54  "This was now the second sign that Jesus did when he had come from Judea to Galilee."
