Jas 1:2,3  "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness."

Steadfast Love is the mark of a Christ Follower because it is the character of Yahweh, Jesus Christ, Isa Al Masih Yeshua Messiah. He is Absolute Steadfast Love.

Exo 34:6, 7  "The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty,"

Jas 1:4  "And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

Steadfast Love is the completion of grace, the fulfillment of faith. Absolute Love drives out fear.

1Jn 4:16 - 19 "So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.  By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.  We love because he first loved us."
So if your struggling with being steadfast in your love for God and others around you there is only one place to go, His wisdom given in love will help you stand steadfast.

Jas 1:5  "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."

This wisdom is not the wisdom that causes us to "get ahead" in the worldly sense! This is not the wisdom of selfish ambition it is the wisdom of steadfast love. What a contrast!

Jas 3:13-17  "Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.  But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.  For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere."
You can't manipulate or cajole the Absolute Love into giving you what you want, He gives only what you need if you will receive it. f you're unsure or don't really want to be filled with His love you are not going to be given a thing.
Jas 1:6 -8  "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor only if you're ready to receive. You can't come with full hands, full of self and receive the fullness of the love of God.

Jas 1:9-11  "Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits."

Remaining steadfast in Absolute Love through trial is the way to life eternal.

Jas 1:12  "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."

Mat 24:13  "But the one who endures to the end will be saved."

1Co 13:7  "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Rev 3:20, 21  "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.  The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne."
