The people who walk with Absolute Love have always had a narrow path to walk between legalism and antinomianism, between trying with all humanistic might to be good enough or using the patient grace of Absolute Love to excuse and encourage immoral living and doing your own thing.
These two paths are represented in Revelation 2 & 3 through the Nicolaitans, "the synagogue of satan" those who claim to be true Jews but really aren't, Balaam and Jezebel.
The Nicolaitans represent all the people who think doing good things thereby lifting up their self-worth and pride will tip the scales,, of "I AM" YHWH the Absolute One who is love, to their favor. "I'm as good as, or better than the next guy", cannot measure up against Absolute Love.
The "synagogue of satan" represents religions that are based on works as a means to attaining rightness before the Absolute Love. Sacrificing, praying hard enough, putting to memory and reciting a "sacred" text, will not stand in the presence of Absolute Love.
The other side of the path is also a snare and deception; "all ways to eternity are the same", "He is loving, accepting it doesn't matter what you do". The doing away with the law of Absolute Love is the way to destruction. You can't play around with the Absolute Love, disregarding, disrespecting, if you do all you can expect is displeasure and eventually your own despair.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;"
Psa 24:3-6 "Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah"
What is the remedy, keep seeking after, Absolute Love. If your waiting for the return make sure to be found in Absolute Love.
Amo 5:4-18 "For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: "Seek me and live; but do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gilgal or cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing."Seek the LORD and live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, with none to quench it for Bethel, O you who turn justice to wormwood and cast down righteousness to the earth! He who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning and darkens the day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the LORD is his name; who makes destruction flash forth against the strong, so that destruction comes upon the fortress. They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks the truth. Therefore because you trample on the poor and you exact taxes of grain from him, you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.For I know how many are your transgressions and how great are your sins-- you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe, and turn aside the needy in the gate. Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why would you have the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light,"
Don't bank on the religion of self effort, don't give yourself to the religion of "sacred ritual", don't succumb to the religion of cheap affection and meaningless acceptance, seek the Absolute Love.
Joh 1:4-5 "In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Joh 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
Joh 3:19-21 "And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
