Commands of Jesus are extension of grace.

Mat 9:2-7 "And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven." And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming." But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--he then said to the paralytic--"Rise, pick up your bed and go home. And he rose and went home."

Jesus is the eternal Word of God, His commands are an extension of grace. His commands carry the power to complete what is commanded.

God speaks and it comes into being.

Gen 1:3 "And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light."

His command creates light from darkness and He creates something full of grace by command.

Sometimes out Theological categories control the paradigms of our thought process. We become dogmatic in separating the realities of God's power through gracious and absolute command. He is sovereign our thoughts regarding Him are not! God is beyond our Theological categorization.

Mat 3:9 "And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham."

More often than not either/or conclusions are arrogant and illusory, instead we should think in all humility being open to broader categories of both/and! God is without limit.
