2Pe 1:1,2  "Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord."

To be a follower of Jesus Christ, Isa Al Masih, Yeshua Messiah, is to become a servant. Obedience and submission are not an option they are a requisite display of the same type of faith that Peter received. Yes, it is received and it is obeyed, not as a work to earn favor, but as a grace to display faith and love. All of this is from God's provision of righteousness that flows from The Father, by The Son through The Spirit- to us. This knowledge ever growing multiplies grace after grace to us bringing peace.

So know that His Divine power has granted us all things, everything that pertains to life and becoming God like is from His hand, given through knowing Him- His excellence and glory. He is Absolute Love.
Now you have been provided an escape from corrupt living and destructive desires, so that you can become more and more like Christ. Not that you would become God or a god, but that your nature might more and more reflect His lovinkindness. He is abounding overflowing with steadfast love and justice.

2Pe 1:3, 4  "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,  by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire."

Exo 34:5-7  "The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,  keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty,
