#Advent #endtimes

Do you love to give and receive gifts? Gifts are a sign of love, caring and in a very special way by design they are meant to fulfill a need.
Receiving gifts is sometimes difficult, it involves acknowledging need. Some people want to stand on their own, proclaiming I have no needs. I am self sufficient.
In truth there is only one without need, who is self sufficient and all things flow from Him, and to Him and through Him. He is Absolute Love, Yahweh (I Am That I Am), Yeshua Messiah, Isa Al Masih, Jesus Christ.

Isa 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this."

The Absolute Love, gives and is given. He is the gift of life and the giver of life. All things belong to Him.

Col 1:15 "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,"

Being all this He was given, by God the Father.

Joh 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

He was given, but for what? To do what? He was given to give Himself! He was given so we might be given the Spirit of God, to love God, to become children of God.

Joh 16:7 "Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you."

Rom 5:3-6 'More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly."

Gal 1:3 "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,"

Eph 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

Col 1:13-14 "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

Tit 2:11-14 "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works."

1Jn 3:1-3 "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure."

Yes, He was given and He gives. All that we need has been given, but gifts need to be received. Have you taken the gifts, taken Him? Have you admitted, acknowledged your need, have you received and welcomed the Spirit of God into your life?

Jesus stood up in the Temple in Jerusalem as a young man and read from Isaiah.

Isa 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor . . . "

Luk 4:21 "And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."

Jesus was given for freeing captives, healing brokeness and giving favor to those who acknowledge their need and receive the gift. But the passage in Isaiah was cut off in mid sentence. Isaiah goes on.

Isa 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;"

A second Advent will come, He will fulfill the justice and judgment upon those who would refuse the gift.
